11/05/09 The four Shepherd Neame competitions were again very successful, although our thanks go to all clubs for trying to fulfil the fixtures despite the havoc wreaked by the weather. The Rule change relating to clubs in National Leagues has worked. At the time of writing this report, the structured season has not been published by the RFU, but there is a possibility that clubs in levels 5 & 6 will have no option but to play twice on a weekend to fulfil Cup fixtures.
The Cup was won by Blackheath who defeated Gravesend 29-8.
The Plate was won by Deal/Bettshanger 26-14 against Westcombe Park; the Vase saw Medway overcome their league rivals Ol Gravesendians 49-15; and the Salver produced a thrilling cliff-hanger with Dartfordians edging Cranbrook 26-25. The first ever finals day with all 4 four competitions was superbly organised by Aylesford, to whom our thanks are recorded here. The Awards Dinner at Kent Cricket Club amply showcased the depth and enthusiasm of our Clubs. The Task Group thank Shepherd Neame for their continued support and also the KSRFUR.

06/04/09 Notice regarding the Shepherd Neame Kent Awards Dinner & Entry for next season’s Shepherd Neame Kent Cup & Vase Competitions
The Shepherd Neame Awards Dinner will take place at Kent CC, St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury on Thursday 21st May 7.30 for 8.15pm, although the bar will be open from 6.30pm this year
Each CLUB is entitled to send TWO representatives; any TEAM that has won or
come second in the Junior Leagues will receive directly a further invitation from their League Secretary.
The KCRFU Exec Committee decided that if reps from a club do not attend
after accepting the invitation, that Club will have to pay for the meal costs of those not attending. This decision is to avoid the embarrassment to our
sponsors when empty places are seen.
Names of your reps to me at timfagg@:saintronans.co.uk
by latest 5th May please.
ALSO this is an invitation to enter the Shepherd Neame Kent Cup and Vase.
If your club is not excluded from next season's cup or Vase, please email with your wish to enter and then send to me a cheque payable to KCRFU for £10
by June 1st.
Thanks; can I also thank all clubs for trying to fulfil the delayed fixtures.
