Shepherd Neame Invicta League 2007 - 2008
Dear League Contact
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR 2007/08 SEASON
Please forgive me for not communicating the new season information to you earlier but I have been waiting for clarification from a couple of clubs.
Welcome to Lordswood and Old Elthamians who are new to Invicta League.
Please find attached documentation regarding the current season, this includes:
- List of Fixtures (please check carefully and report any discrepancies asap.)
- Rule change regarding reporting results and penalties for not doing so.
- Front row replacement formula.
- Information sheet regarding your club’s details to keep my records up to date.
- Invoice for fees (Sidcup have already paid)
Item 1 - is self-explanatory. I have entered fixtures as supplied to me by the clubs, but I am human and there may be mistakes. Please let me know of any changes as soon as possible.
Item 2 – This rule regarding time limit on reporting results and penalties for not doing so is unique to Invicta League. The home team bears the main responsibility for reporting results but I do need the information from both teams to check accuracy etc. You can phone or email results making sure it is clear which teams played and their scores. Please make sure that whoever will report your results is aware of the penalty for late contact. I will be happy to answer any queries you may have.
Item 3 – Invicta will continue to operate uncontested scrums in the event of a team not starting with a full front row line-up or losing a front row player due to injury or suspension as per the flow chart. Make sure your referee is aware of this rule before the game. I do not expect that teams will use a lack of front-row players as an excuse for cancelling games. If you are players short the first thing to do is to try and rearrange the fixture with your opposite number at the earliest possible date and I expect teams to be sympathetic to this. Remember that it is usual that cup games take priority, followed by League fixtures and lastly friendlies. The idea is for games to be played and I must be kept informed.
Item 4 – Please complete this and email back to me – also please let me know of any changes during the season. Hopefully this should ensure that information gets to the people who need to know as quickly as possible.
Item 5 – Invoice for fees – these fees are due now. Please pass invoice to your treasurer as soon as possible. Because I am emailing this document I apologise for the group nature of the invoice.
Thank you all for your help and co-operation with the above. I am here to help if you need it. If you have any suggestions on how the set-up can be improved etc. please let me know. If I cannot resolve any disputes your next point of contact is Tim Fagg of the County Competitions Sub-Committee
Best wishes to all Clubs for a very enjoyable and successful season.
Yours sincerely
Linda Neal
